Determining the Topology of Real Algebraic Surfaces

چکیده
An algorithm is proposed to determine the topology of an implicit real algebraic surface in R. The algorithm consists of three steps: surface projection, projection curve topology determination and surface patches composition. The algorithm provides a curvilinear wireframe of the surface and the surface patches of the surface determined by the curvilinear wireframe, which have the same topology as the surface. Most of the surface patches are curvilinear polygons. Some examples are used to show that our algorithm is effective.

Computation of the Topology Types of the Level Curves of Real Algebraic Surfaces
In this paper, we address the problem of determining the z-values where the topology type of the level curves of an algebraic surface may change. In the case when the surface is bounded and non-singular, this question is solved by Morse Theory. However, here we consider the problem for the more general case of algebraic surfaces without further restrictions, i.e. not necessarily bounded or smoo...
متن کاملCategorically-algebraic topology and its applications
This paper introduces a new approach to topology, based on category theory and universal algebra, and called categorically-algebraic (catalg) topology. It incorporates the most important settings of lattice-valued topology, including poslat topology of S.~E.~Rodabaugh, $(L,M)$-fuzzy topology of T.~Kubiak and A.~v{S}ostak, and $M$-fuzzy topology on $L$-fuzzy sets of C.~Guido. Moreover, its respe...

In this thesis, we got interested into the Effective Computation of the Topology of Real Algebraic Curves and Surfaces. One can distinguish three main new algorithms in the field of shape representation. Our first algorithm is a certified symbolic-numerical based on sub-resultants properties and computes the topology of a plane algebraic curve with the best known complexity. The second algorith...
متن کاملPointfree topology version of image of real-valued continuous functions
Let $ { mathcal{R}} L$ be the ring of real-valued continuous functions on a frame $L$ as the pointfree version of $C(X)$, the ring of all real-valued continuous functions on a topological space $X$. Since $C_c(X)$ is the largest subring of $C(X)$ whose elements have countable image, this motivates us to present the pointfree version of $C_c(X).$The main aim of this paper is to present t...

The algorithm gives an intrinsic representation for the topology of the surface. Some examples are used to show that the algor...
